Organizational MOTIVATION!

MoTiVaTiOn ThEOrIeS!!!

Is economic retribution enough to motivate employees?
I think that money is not enough to motivate employees, because even if it is important to satisfy much of the basic needs of people, workers need more effective mechanisms of motivation and that would make them more productive.

Leaders of an organization, additional of the economic retributions as a method of motivation should use methods such as:

- Promotion of communication with employees.
- Motivation through incentives to cooperation.
- Dedication of time
- Celebrating the successes and achievements.
- make a feedback of the process.
- among other

 MoTiVaTiON:
Is a process of arousing and sustaining goal directed behavior
Motivations and atribution someone has to be responsible stimulating the desire and energy.

Theories:
1. Internal: personal, yourself
2. Process: interaction between you and individual and environment.
3. External: in the environment.

When you need something it generates movement internally.
There are two motivations:
--> Intrinsic: internal needs (  is the exchange of an intangible for a product or service )
--> Extrinsic: external incentives ( the exchange of monetary currency for a product or service.)

An excellent way of showing how is the behavior between employee and manager!

DOUGLAS MCGREGOR
developed one of the best known motivational
theories, THEORY X AND Y

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kqrn14osJps&feature=related
Theory X !
- dislike work
-avoid responsabilities
- require security
Theory Y !
-view work as natural
- self directed
- seek responsibility

3 KINDS OF NEEDS:
1. ACHIEVEMENT: GOALS AND PERSISTENCE, MONEY IS NOT IMPORTANT.
2. POWER: DIFFERENT IN LIFE, IS DESTRUCTIVE BY MANIPULATING
3. AFILIATION: MAINTAIN CLOSE RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS.

QUESTION...
In multicultural organizational contexts what could be a good strategy to keep people motivated towards a common task?
Much more than the part of the remuneration, which is important is to publicize the achievements of teamwork, achieving goals and benefits for the company isprofessionally and personally to each of the collaborators. A favorable work environment. The participation of employees in the improvement of strategies that achieve efficiency in the workplace.
