QUESTIONS
How can organizations effectively manage both risk taking and escalation of commitment in the decision-making behavior of employees? This two types of decision making are actually very similar in terms that both of them are not averse to risk, both like to have some uncertainty in there decisions and as you know, while higher the risk, higher the profit, so if you are a manager and you hire people like this, you will probably be the same way, because you won't like someone just the opposite of you in the same process. If you hire people without risk aversion, and with commitment of getting what was decided to, they are not going to be afraid of implementing new measures or decisions and no matter how risky it is, they are going to find a positive way of looking at it and working on its favor.

Organizational MOTIVATION!

MoTiVaTiOn ThEOrIeS!!!

Is economic retribution enough to motivate employees?
I think that money is not enough to motivate employees, because even if it is important to satisfy much of the basic needs of people, workers need more effective mechanisms of motivation and that would make them more productive.

Leaders of an organization, additional of the economic retributions as a method of motivation should use methods such as:

- Promotion of communication with employees.
- Motivation through incentives to cooperation.
- Dedication of time
- Celebrating the successes and achievements.
- make a feedback of the process.
- among other

 MoTiVaTiON:
Is a process of arousing and sustaining goal directed behavior
Motivations and atribution someone has to be responsible stimulating the desire and energy.

Theories:
1. Internal: personal, yourself
2. Process: interaction between you and individual and environment.
3. External: in the environment.

When you need something it generates movement internally.
There are two motivations:
--> Intrinsic: internal needs (  is the exchange of an intangible for a product or service )
--> Extrinsic: external incentives ( the exchange of monetary currency for a product or service.)

An excellent way of showing how is the behavior between employee and manager!

DOUGLAS MCGREGOR
developed one of the best known motivational
theories, THEORY X AND Y

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kqrn14osJps&feature=related
Theory X !
- dislike work
-avoid responsabilities
- require security
Theory Y !
-view work as natural
- self directed
- seek responsibility

3 KINDS OF NEEDS:
1. ACHIEVEMENT: GOALS AND PERSISTENCE, MONEY IS NOT IMPORTANT.
2. POWER: DIFFERENT IN LIFE, IS DESTRUCTIVE BY MANIPULATING
3. AFILIATION: MAINTAIN CLOSE RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS.

QUESTION...
In multicultural organizational contexts what could be a good strategy to keep people motivated towards a common task?
Much more than the part of the remuneration, which is important is to publicize the achievements of teamwork, achieving goals and benefits for the company isprofessionally and personally to each of the collaborators. A favorable work environment. The participation of employees in the improvement of strategies that achieve efficiency in the workplace.

The Corporation!!!

MNCs A corporation that has its facilities and other assets in at least one country other than its home country. Such companies have offices and/or factories in different countries and usually have a centralized head office where they co-ordinate global management. Very large multinationals have budgets that exceed those of many small countries.
Four years ago, multinational players accounted for 36 percent of India's IT-ITES exports. By March 2005, global IT firms had come to account for 46 per cent of the country's IT-ITES exports. As Indian IT exports race towards $60 billion by 2010,will India's homegrown players lose the field to MNCs?In 2001-02, India's IT services exports stood at $6.2 billion. Out of this, the top five Indian IT firms, categorised by Nasscom as Tier-I players, accounted for 32 per cent. Tier-II players (companies with revenues between Rs 100 crore and Rs 1,000 crore) accounted for 35 per cent. MNC players constituted 27 per cent. The balance was made up by niche and small and medium companies. By the end of 2004-05, when India's IT services export revenues stood at $12 billion, MNCs had grown their market share to 36 per cent. This year, MNCs are pegged to corner more than 40 per cent of India's IT services export revenues.

SUMMARY OF " THE CORPORATION"
United States is the country where it is better to invest.
What is a corporation? is the way of owning a business, to achieve several objectives.
The birth of the modern corporation was born in the industrial age in 1712 (it was for public benefit)
externality: the effect of a transaction (the idea of let someone else take care of another) that is based on a comparison.
Stories corporations: many countries create free trade by creating incentives and taxes are higher.
Mansant: evidence from rBGH cows

European land grabs, people belonged to land, cultivated land collectively.
Wealth is created only when it is private.
Public institutions have many benefits can maintain employment in times ofrecession.
"Mark is not advertising production (invasive)

QUESTION
One of the criticisms in the movie is “without externalities, no manufacturing industry is sustainable”. Do you agree? What could be done in this phenomenon?
I agree because if you do not know half the things progress the industry will not work for example if a teenager likes computers and all q is evolving and no one knows that thisforward and how it changes your perception and knows no competition, the industry willdesapreciendo because the concept of externality is related to innovation.

Even if this video gives an example of transportation you might look at it, i liked her way of thinking in aspects of sustainability

PERSONALITY, PERCEPTION AND ATTRIBUTION-ATTITUDES AND VALUES...

Are you supposed to have good or bad attitudes since you are born?...
Try to mantain good attitudes.

ATTITUDES: A psychological tendency expressed by evaluating an entity with some degree of favor or disfavor

PERCEPTION:  is a big process in which you interprate a lot of inoformation about another person. A simple example: Here it shows a simple perception that you might see in a person, when you dont know nothing about her.excellent!

--> This link shows an important point of view and it relates personality with attitude:  http://www.godtube.com/watch/?v=DDGWLWNX
